A Bit About Me

Katherine Davis-Gibbon is an award-winning children's book author, yoga teacher, and most importantly a mother of two. Her debut book, My Old Friend, Then, received praise from parents, teachers, librarians, and therapists, as well as the following awards recognition: Distinguished Favorite in the 2023 Independent Press Awards; Distinguished Favorite in the 2022 New York City Best Book Awards, and Finalist in the 2022 American Book Fest's Best Book Awards. Her new book, Words, has earned accolades from multiple editorial outlets, including being named a Best Indie Release of the Week by Kirkus Reviews and a Reviewer's Choice by Midwest Book Review. In the awards arena, it won the 2025 New York City Big Book Award in the Children's Motivational Category, a Silver Award from CIPA in the Children's Nonfiction category, a Gold Book Award from Literary Titan, a "Best of the Best" Gold Award from the Mom's Choice Awards, a Distinguished Favorite Recognition from the 2025 Independent Press Awards in the Children's Picture Book Ages 4-8 Category, and a Distinguished Favorite recognition from 2025 New York City Big Book Awards in the Best Book Cover Children's Picture Book Category. Originally from Chicago, she now lives in Santa Fe, NM with her family and rescue chihuahuas.
